Siloam Hospitals Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with AI health tech start-up Bot MD to automate and scale patient reported outcome measures across their entire hospital chain. This partnership will help improve the quality of care for Siloam patients through automating the collection of patient outcomes before and after treatment using clinical gold standards for Patient Reported Outcomes Measures (PROMs).

With Bot MD Care, Siloam will be able to scale the data collection across a range of clinical conditions by powering WhatsApp with an AI chatbot that can also automate reminders and education information to patients.

Patients who receive treatment at Siloam Hospitals for heart failure or ischemic heart disease will receive a WhatsApp reminder during their visit to collect their baseline medical condition. The AI platform will automate reminders and collection of health reported outcomes pre- and post-surgery and score the patient’s outcomes automatically. This will allow Siloam to benchmark and measure the patient outcomes across its hospitals in Indonesia.

In addition to powering popular chat platforms like WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger, Bot MD’s proprietary AI chat engine is also able to integrate a wide variety of hospital information systems to instantly answer doctor and nurse queries on patient information and internal hospital guidelines and protocols. Since December 2022, Bot MD has been used to power instant information search for over 200,000 doctors in Ikatan Dokter Indonesia (IDI).

As the largest private hospital group in Indonesia with 41 Siloam hospitals and 66 clinics, Siloam treats and provides care for more than 5 million unique patients each year. Siloam Hospitals is committed to continue to invest in facilities and technology, and further support each step of the patients’ journey.

Siloam Hospitals has implemented various technological investments such as the MySiloam Application, Electronic Medical Records (EMR), and Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) System. Siloam also integrated a robust Hospital Information System which enables each hospital unit to leverage utilizing the large network of hospitals with the most comprehensive experts in Indonesia.

At the start, Siloam Hospitals and Bot MD will focus on measuring the outcomes of patients with chronic heart disease conditions such as heart failure or ischemic heart disease. The Bot MD Care platform will be first introduced at Siloam Hospitals Lippo Village in Tangerang and will be progressively rolled out across other hospitals.

Siloam Hospitals Group also has plans to expand the platform to cover other clinical areas, and improve patient engagement. Bot MD will also integrate the PROM outcomes into the Siloam EMR to make it easy for clinical users to review patient progress.
